2016

Since his acquisition from the New York Red Bulls on July 7, Lloyd Sam started in 13 matches for the Black-and-Red. In his fifth MLS season, Sam scored three goals and recorded the third-most assists on the team (six). The 33-year-old played an integral role in the revitalized Black-and-Red offense in the second half of the season, leading the team with 52 chances created and 143 crosses. Sam’s goals against New York City FC (Sept 1.) and Columbus (Sept. 28) earned him nominations for the AT&T Goal of the Week. He also earned MLS Team of the Week nominations for his performances against Toronto (Oct. 1) and against New York City FC (Oct. 16).

2003-2012

Made 10 appearances with English League One side Notts County while on loan from the mighty Leeds United, scoring five goals in that span. Prior to that, Sam was transferred from Charlton Athletic to Leeds United in August 2010. From 2010 to 2012, Sam produced two goals in 35 appearances for Leeds United. In 2006, Sam was sent on loan from Charlton Athletic to Sheffield Wednesday. From 2003 to 2004, after two seasons with Premier League side Charlton Athletic, Sam was loaned to League Two side Leyton Orient.
