Following United's 2-1 victory over New York City FC, several United players, including Lloyd Sam and Bobby Boswell achieved career milestones. Sam, 32, started his 100th career MLS match on Saturday and celebrated the occasion in style, opening the scoring in the 53rd minute.

The Ghanaian pounced on a poor backpass from Frederic Brillant and slotted home past Sean Johnson for his 24th career goal.

Sam was an attacking presence all match, leading the team in penalty area entries (11) and total shots. Boswell, who was named to the MLS Team of the Week for his strong performance, made his 180th career appearance for D.C. United, leading the current roster. He is also third among active players in most appearances all-time (357), second in starts (352) and second in minutes (31,511).
With his next goal, Sam will join the list of 28 active players with at least 25 goals and 25 assists.
Other United players who hit milestones include Lamar Neagle, who reached 175 MLS appearances and Bill Hamid, who made his 165th MLS start (all for the Black-and-Red).
