D.C. United have announced that Tom Hunt will be leaving his role as the club’s President of Business Operations to take up a new role in sports.
“We want to thank Tom for his years of service and commitment to the club,” Jason Levien, United General Managing Partner and CEO, said. "He was a valued part of the team that turned the opening of our new world class home, Audi Field, into a historic success. He was a key leader in securing vital partnerships that have led to unprecedented growth for our organization. We wish him all the best moving forward.”
Hunt joined D.C. United in March 2014, after working for three years at Monumental Sports & Entertainment in Washington DC, overseeing corporate partnerships and advertising revenue.
Hunt is a 27-year veteran in the sports and entertainment industry, having served varied roles in sales and marketing for the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, WWE and Turner Broadcasting.
“When I joined D.C. United four-and-half years ago, our mission was to transform the business and the brand, with a laser focus on growing the fan base and delivering a world class stadium the District deserved,” Tom Hunt said. "It has been a privilege to work alongside the entire D.C. United family to see these goals realized. It’s certainly an exciting time to be a part of the Black-and-Red community!”
