MLS Experience

2019: Boateng began the season with the LA Galaxy where he recorded a goal and an assist in 21 appearances (seven starts). Halfway through the 2019 season, Boateng was acquired by D.C. United on Aug. 7. The midfielder made his debut for the Black-and-Red as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Aug. 17. Boateng finished the season with three substitute appearances for D.C. United.

2018 (LA Galaxy): Following an impressive season in which he set personal bests, Boateng was once again an important figure for the LA Galaxy. The Ghanaian finished the season with two goals and five assists in 27 appearances (12 starts). Despite being primarily used as a substitute, Boateng finished the season with 27 chances created proving his ability to spark attacks and create opportunities for his teammates.

2017(LA Galaxy): In 2017, Boateng set career highs in appearances (34), minutes played (2,321) and goals (4). The midfielder constantly used his pace to beat defenders off the dribble and set up his teammates as he finished the season with 36 chances created and two assists. Boateng maintained a passing accuracy of 81% in 2017 as he showcased his ability to retain possession for his team.

Previous Experience

After playing just one collegiate season, Boateng signed a contract with Helsingborgs IF in the Swedish first tier. The Ghanaian made his professional debut for the Swedish side as a substitute against Djurgarden IF on Aug. 5, 2013. Boateng played three seasons for Helsingborgs IF recording seven goals and two assists in 39 appearances.

College Experience

Emmanuel Boateng played one season for the University of California at Santa Barbara. As a freshman at UCSB, the midfielder made 18 appearances (16 starts) recording four goals and four assists. Following his lone season in college, Boateng signed with Swedish side Helsingborgs IF.
