MidfielderMLS EXPERIENCE
2013: Shanosky spent a majority of the 2013 season on loan with the Richmond Kickers of the USL Pro League where he featured in 14 games and scored two goals to help lead the Kickers to the 2013 USL Pro Regular Season Championship. For the Black-and-Red, the fourth year homegrown signee played in five games (3) starts and registered two shots from the center back position.
2012: Shanosky went on a season-long loan to the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers of the North American Soccer League in early March of 2012. Shanosky quickly became a staple among the Strikers defense early in the season and went on to log the second-highest number of minutes played (2,232).
2011: Shanosky’s only appearance with D.C. United’s senior team came during an international friendly match against European giants AFC Ajax on 5/22 at RFK Stadium with Shanosky coming on for Perry Kitchen in the 76th minute. The D.C. United Academy product played seven matches (five starts) for the Black-and-Red in the 2011 MLS Reserve League, putting in 478 minutes of action.
2010: The young defensive midfielder joined United’s senior squad on 8/16 but did not play in a regular season game in 2010. The Potomac Falls high school product rose from within D.C.’s Academy and joined Bill Hamid and Andy Najar on the Black-and-Red’s growing list of fresh faces that started their United experience at the youth level. Shanosky will be eligible for selection in first team matches in the 2011 MLS season.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
2010: Shanosky captained United’s U-18 side in 2010 and, for his efforts, was called into Thomas Rongen’s United States Under-20 side for the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland. The United States defeated the host nation in this prestigious competition, with Shanosky starting the first two matches of the tournament against China and Norway. In the Milk Cup final, Shanosky came on as a substitute and made his impact felt in the United States’ triumph. United States U-18 Head Coach and former United boss Rongen has routinely called upon Shanosky through the midfielder's ascension in United's Academy.
