With a continued effort to raise awareness and funds for cancer research and treatment, MLS WORKS and local clubs are partnering and focusing efforts on Childhood Cancer Awareness during the month of September.

Viewing Party | Sunday, Sept. 11, New York Red Bulls v. United
Cancer-affected youth and their families residing at the Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) had the chance to watch the Black-and-Red take on the New York Red Bulls in their only trip to Red Bull Arena this season. In addition to enjoying the match with United goalkeeper Charlie Horton, food and arts & crafts were provided.
Create a Tifo with Supporters | Sunday, Sept. 18, RFK Stadium
Youth who have been affected by cancer will team up with D.C. United supporters to help create a Kick Childhood Cancer-inspired "tifo" that will be unveiled during an upcoming home match.
Wednesday, September 28th, D.C. United v. Columbus Crew
- Alex's Lemonade Stand outside of stadium at Main Gate and Gate A before gates open.
- Honorary Make-A-Wish Captain, who will lead the team out of the tunnel prior to kickoff and meet players following the full-time whistle.
- Halftime recognition of youth and families from the American Cancer Society, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, the American Childhood Cancer Organization, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society who are surviving their battle with cancer.
- Players to wear Kick Childhood Cancer t-shirts during pre-game warmups while coaches don KCC scarves. The nets of both goals will be yellow, as will the corner flags, player wristbands, shoe laces for players, and ribbon patches on all players' jerseys.
