D.C. United announced today, through United Drives, that the program in partnership with Leidos will collect new toys to benefit Playtime Project on Wednesday, July 30 before United’s match against Toronto FC at 7 p.m. Playtime Project’s mission is to nurture healthy child development and reduce the effects of trauma among children living in temporary housing programs in Washington, D.C. Playtime Project works to provide children with new toys who are experiencing homelessness to enjoy throughout the year.
The United Drives booth is located outside of RFK Stadium’s Gate A and will open an hour and a half prior to kickoff, closing 15 minutes into the first half. Any fan that donates an item will receive a “Buy One, Get One Free” ticket voucher good for any D.C. United regular-season home. Donations are accepted in the D.C. United offices on game and non-game days, located on the fourth floor of Gate A.
A D.C. United signature program, United Drives assigns a different charity drive for each month of the MLS regular season.
