United Drives Collects Soccer Equipment for Passback Program

Community Placeholder

D.C. United announced today, through United Drives, that the program will collect new and used soccer equipment to benefit U.S. Soccer’s Passback Program, May 9 before United’s home match against Sporting Kansas City at 7:00 p.m.

The United Drives booth is located outside of RFK Stadium’s Gate A and will open an hour and a half prior to kickoff and close 15 minutes into the first half. Any fan that donates an item will receive a “Buy One, Get One Free” ticket voucher good for any 2015 D.C. United Regular Season home game as well as a 5% off coupon to the D.C. United Team Store. Donations are also accepted in the D.C. United offices on game and non-game days, located on the fourth floor of Gate A.

This kicks off the United Drives program this season and will combine efforts with the Passback Program.  D.C. United launched a partnership with the U.S. Soccer Foundation's Passback Program this season to distribute soccer equipment to children in the greater Washington area. Since 2002, the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Passback Program has collected and redistributed over 900,000 pieces of soccer equipment to children in underserved communities. With the help of dedicated individuals, soccer clubs, and organizations that collect and donate soccer equipment, D.C. United and the U.S. Soccer Foundation are committed to bringing the game of soccer to children who love the sport, but wouldn’t have the resources to play.
