United donated $1,500 worth of soccer equipment to the Latin American Youth Center as part of the Every Save Makes A Difference Program following D.C. United’s season opener against the LA Galaxy at the StubHub Center on March 6th.
On Tuesday, March 15, D.C. United midfielder Patrick Nyarko delivered the equipment as part of the first donation of the 2016 season to the Latin American Youth Center, which helps provide free after-school education, arts, health and recreational programs to a diverse population of local area youth.
Through the Every Save Makes a Difference Program, MLS WORKS, Allstate and Univision Deportes awards organizations in Hispanic-facing communities with soccer equipment during every UniMás or Univision Deportes Network broadcast of a Major League Soccer match. Dollar amount is determined by team’s number of saves.
Since the initiative’s inception, the program has delivered over $45,000 worth of soccer equipment across the nation in MLS markets.
