While Washington DC was experiencing summer-like conditions, the Black-and-Red were in chilly Chicago for a rare Sunday night match. The match ended with a disappointing result for the squad, but there were a few key stats to take away.

D.C. United dominated 63.2% of the possession on the night, allowing Chicago to control a mere 36.8%. On possession, Head Coach Ben Olsen explained, "We had a lot of the ball, and a lot of passes that connected. We talked about going into our forwards, back and wide, exploiting some of their weakness."

Two members of the Black-and-Red saw their first MLS minutes on Sunday. Conor Shanosky, the homegrown defender earned a start and played 64 minutes. Newly signed midfielder Sainey Nyassi was a late sub and played 27 minutes. Both Shanosky and Nyassi played last Tuesday in D.C. United's Open Cup victory at Richmond.
