Joe Willis made seven spectacular saves against the Rapids, keeping a clean sheet and helping DCU earn a much-needed road point. The talented goalkeeper stopped point-blank rockets and shots from distance with composure and confidence, denying several Colorado attackers the satisfaction of a game-winning goal.
23 and 20
The Rapids had 23 attempts on goal, though only seven were on frame, and 20 open play crosses. This is a testament to United’s incredibly committed team defending in the box. Woolard made several game-saving tackles in the six, White commanded the backline with his usual confidence, and Willis did whatever it took to keep the ball out of the back of the net. Head Coach Ben Olsen consistently calls United “gutsy,” and last night, they definitely were.
