D.C. United's 2014 Community Outreach Recap

2014 has been a great year for D.C. United on and off the field. As we continue to recap the memorable campaign, let's turn our focus to United's community outreach. D.C. United's foundation uses soccer to promote the personal growth of underserved youth in the D.C. area. It seeks to strengthen our community by mentoring children and instilling the values of self-discipline, healthy living and teamwork.


  • United Soccer Club was launched in 2007. In 2014, there have been over 1,000 participants in the free after-school program, which operates at 14 locations across six wards.
  • In 2014, the D.C. United Kicks for Kids program has distributed over 700 DCU game tickets to underserved youth through 35 different local organizations.
  • In 2014, D.C. United has had over 150 player appearances in the community.
  • So far in 2014, D.C. United has conducted 11 donation drives, collecting hundreds of items, including toys, clothing, soccer equipment, canned food and school supplies.
  • In 2014, D.C. United front office, players and volunteers have together served more than a dozen local organizations, for nearly 450 hours.
