On Friday, February 19, D.C. United front office staff members and Screaming Eagles supporters teamed up to take the plunge into  icy waters at Mount Vernon Square.  The reason? Raising money, and bringing awareness to Special Olympics D.C.

D.C. United and Screaming Eagles participants were part of a select group of over 300 people who had the opportunity to take the plunge in the heart of D.C. on the lawn of the historic Carnegie Library.
Special Olympics D.C. uses Polar Plunges to bring together adults and children who are interested in raising money to support the nearly 1,500 athletes of Special Olympics D.C. while doing something wild and fun. In a combined effort, D.C. United and Screaming Eagles contributed to overall fundraising efforts which generated over $100,000.

Special Olympics D.C. is a provider of year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. For more information on Special Olympics D.C. visit:www.specialolympicsdc.org/.
