D.C. United have acquired Venezuelan forward Jovanny BolĂvar from Deportivo La Guaira in the Venzuelan first division on a one-year loan with the option for a permanent transfer. The 19-year-old forward will join the Black-and-Red pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Trade Certificate (ITC).
“Jovanny is a young and talented forward who we believe has the tools to succeed in MLS,” Dave Kasper, D.C. United General Manager and VP of Soccer Operations, said. “At 19-years-old, he already has professional experience in the Venezuelan first division and has also represented the Venezuelan Youth National Team. This is a move that shows our continued commitment to bringing in young players with a high ceiling for success. We’re excited to add him to the roster ahead of the 2021 MLS season.”
BolĂvar started his professional career with Venezuelan champions Deportivo La Guaira. The forward made his debut for the club against Monagas SC on Jan. 26, 2019 at 17-years-old.
