United to host Audi Field ribbon cutting and housewarming party on July 9 -

D.C. United will host a ribbon cutting ceremony and housewarming party at Audi Field on Monday, July 9, from 4:30 PM until 7 PM.

As the Black-and-Red prepare to open their new state-of-the-art home with the Audi Field inaugural match on July 14, the club invites fans and the community to gather at Audi Field on Monday to celebrate the opening of the stadium and a new era for D.C. United. The events are free and open to the public.

The afternoon will begin with the ribbon cutting ceremony, with key speakers from D.C. United, the District of Columbia, and Audi addressing the media and audience. Speakers will include Jason Levien, United General Managing Partner & CEO; Erick Thohir; United General Partner; Don Garber, MLS Commissioner; Muriel Bowser, Mayor of the District of Columbia; and Loren Angelo, Audi VP of Marketing. The ceremony will take place at the northwest gate of the stadium, on the corner of 2nd and R St.

Following the ceremony, a celebratory housewarming party will ensue, featuring D.C. United players, music, games, and food. Admission is free, with food and beverage available for purchase, including sneak peeks of some Chef José Andrés-inspired Audi Field offerings.

Due to limited parking in the area, it is recommended that fans planning on driving to the event book a spot in advance. To reserve a nearby parking spot, visit the Audi Field SpotHero parking page and book a space with up to 50% off drive-up rates.
