United left Dick's Sporting Goods Park with all three points after the Colorado Rapids scored an own goal in the first half and goalkeeper Bill Hamid preserved the lead with three world-class saves. The win marks the first for D.C. since June 21 and the second 1-0 victory away from home this year.

In the 27th minute, Colorado center back Jared Watts played a back pass intended for goalkeeper Tim Howard, but the ball was out of reach and ended in the back of Howard's net.
The Black-and-Red earned the 1-0 victory only after Hamid repeatedly denied the Rapids, stopping Shkelzen Gashi's, Bismark Boateng's and Dominique Badji's long range efforts.
New acquisition Russell Canouse made his first start for the Black-and-Red, playing all 90 minutes and leading the team in passing accuracy and tackles (87.5 percent and 5, respectively).
United now return to the District to host two matches in the next seven days, starting with Atlanta United F.C. on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM.
