United and Sébastien Le Toux have agreed to mutually terminate the Frenchman’s contract.
“We wish Sébastien the best of luck in his future endeavors,” Dave Kasper, United general manager and VP of soccer operations, said.
After signing with the Black-and-Red as an MLS free agent on Jan. 24, 2017, Le Toux made 16 league appearances this season (eight starts). In April, the 33-year-old scored in back-to-back matches against New England and Atlanta United. Le Toux is the only active player in Major League Soccer to have scored at least 55 goals and record at least 55 assists and one of 13 players in league history to achieve the milestone. The Mont-Saint-Aignan native is the all-time Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup scorer with 16 goals and also started in both of United's Open Cup fixtures in June.
