PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2017 (D.C. United): Following a successful three seasons with the Columbus Crew and a brief stint with AC Horsens in the Superliga, Clark signed with United on August 17. The goalkeeper made his United debut and earned his first shutout for the club in the 4-0 win over San Jose on Sept. 23. In his first Atlantic Cup match against New York, Clark had a dominant performance in goal, making five saves. His cross-goal save against Bradley Wright-Phillips earned him a 2017 MLS Save of the Year nomination. In the season finale on Oct. 22 against RBNY, Clark saved a second-half penalty, earning him an MLS Save of the Week Nomination.
2016 (Columbus Crew): Clark made 32 appearances (32 starts) for Crew SC with a 8-12-12 record and eight clean sheets. He notched his first clean sheet of the campaign as part of a 0-0 draw at Chicago (March 19). He earned his first win of the season in a start vs. New York City FC (April 16). Clark notched his second clean sheet of the season with a two-save effort against Houston (April 23) in what was his 75th career regular-season start for Columbus. He tied his MLS single-match regular-season career best with seven saves at Seattle (April 30). He established a new personal single-match regular-season record with eight saves the next weekend against Montreal (May 7). Clark registered his third shutout of the campaign with two saves at Toronto FC (May 21). He stopped a penalty kick as part of a 4-3 win over Real Salt Lake (May 28), his third career regular-season penalty save and his first since 2014. He recorded his fourth shutout of the 2016 regular season against Montreal (June 18). He reached 300 saves for his regular-season career at Toronto (July 13) and became the third goalkeeper in club history to reach that milestone. He registered five saves as part of his fifth clean sheet of the season in a 2-0 win at New England (August 20) and recorded his sixth clean sheet of the season and the 20th of his MLS regular-season career with a two-save effort vs. San Jose (August 27). He registered his seventh clean sheet of the 2016 season as part of a 2-0 win over New England (September 25). He registered his eighth clean sheet of 2016 season in 3-0 win over Chicago (October 1). He recorded his 100th regular-season MLS and Crew SC appearance and start (all consecutive) at Chicago (October 13). He did not make an appearance in the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
2015 (Columbus Crew): Clark made 34 appearances (34 starts) in his second season with Crew SC and went 15-11-8 with six clean sheets, playing every minute of every match for the second straight season. He started the club’s season opener against Houston (March 7), making two saves. He then recorded his first clean sheet of the season in the club’s home opener versus Toronto FC (March 14), making three stops. Clark was signed to a new contract by the club on April 2, extending his tenure in Black & Gold. The goalkeeper tied his then-career-best with a six save performance at Vancouver (April 8), followed by notching his second clean sheet of the season and the 10th of his career at New England (April 11). He registered his second-consecutive and third overall shutout in a 3-0 win over Orlando (April 18). He again tied his then-career-best with his second six-stop performance of the season at San Jose (May 16). This was followed by setting a new career-high by making seven saves at Orlando (May 30). He made his 50th appearance in MLS and for Crew SC, earning his h win of the season vs. New England (June 24). He notched his sixth win and his first-ever assist with two saves and a helper on Ethan Finlay’s first-half goal in a 2-1 victory over the Red Bulls (July 4). Clark earned his 23rd career win at Colorado (August 8), surpassing Brad Friedel for fifth all-time in club history. He broke the 100-save barrier at New York (October 3), becoming the third club goalkeeper to ever notch consecutive triple-digit save seasons. In the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs, Clark started all five matches for Crew SC, notching a playoff clean sheet in the First Leg of the Eastern Conference Championship against the New York Red Bulls (November 22). Clark did not make an appearance in the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
2014 (Columbus Crew): In his first season with Columbus, Clark made all 34 starts and went 14-10-10 with a 1.24 goals against average and eight shutouts. He was named Columbus’s Defender of the Year and captured the Kirk Urso Heart Award. Clark was one of just five League players to play every minute for his club in 2014. He made his club debut while recording one save and his first shutout at D.C. United (March 8). He made three saves in the Black & Gold’s 2014 home-opener against Philadelphia Union (March 22), picking up the 2-1 win. Clark made a stoppage-time save of a penalty kick to secure a shutout draw in the 0-0 match against D.C. United (June 7). He made five saves in the club’s 2-1 home victory over Montreal (July 19), winning the League’s Save of the Week award for a double-stop on Marco Di Vaio and Andres Romero. Clark set a new season- and career-high with six saves in the Black & Gold’s 2-1 win at New England (July 26). He tied his career-high in saves by making six in a 2-2 draw at Houston (September 13). Clark posted his seventh shutout of the campaign and again matched his career-high in saves with six in a victory over New England (September 20). He made four stops in both a loss at New England (October 4) and a win at Philadelphia (October 11), surpassing 100 saves on the season. Clark made his MLS Cup Playoffs debut in the first leg against New England (November 1), recording five saves. He made seven saves in the second leg (November 9), setting a new all-competitions MLS career best. Clark started in both Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches, securing the Fourth Round victory over Indy Eleven (June 17) before advancing to the Fifth Round against Chicago (June 25).
2013 (Hønefoss BK): In his final season with Hønefoss BK, Clark again started 30 contests for the club. He posted a 6-13-11 record with a 1.56 goals against average and four shutouts.
2012 (Hønefoss BK): Back in Norway’s highest level of competition, Clark posted a 7-11-12 record in Tippeligaen regular-season play. He paired his 1.40 goals against average with nine shutouts.
2011 (Hønefoss BK): In 2011, as the club made a run for promotion back to Norway’s top-tier division, the Tippeligaen, Clark led the team with 12 shutouts and a 0.93 goals against average. He helped the club secure points in 25 of the team's 30 matches en route to a 16-5-9 record.
2010 (Hønefoss BK): In his first season with Hønefoss BK, the club was in Norway’s top-flight League, the Tippeligaen, before being relegated to the second-tier Adeccoligaen for the 2011 season. During the 2010 campaign, Clark made just four appearances and was 1-3-0 with a 2.27 goals against average and one shutout.
COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
Clark played collegiately at Oakland University from 2005-2008 and was a two-time All-Summit League player as a junior and senior. In his final season with the Golden Grizzlies he ranked eighth in the country with a 0.54 goals against average, and he was also named to the All-Midwest Region First Team, posting a Summit League record-tying 11 shutouts. Clark also secured the honor of Summit League Defensive Player of the Year in 2008.
