MLS EXPERIENCE
2013: Attakora returned to Major League Soccer in February of 2013 signing with the San Jose Earthquakes. He made his first start on 3/23 against Seattle, where he played 90 minutes in a 1-0 win. He played in 8 games (7 starts) and played 657 minutes for San Jose while recording one assist.
2010: Appeared in 25 games, 24 as a starter and logged 2,108 minutes. He scored one goal on the season on 8/7 against Chivas. In CONCACAF Champions League, Attakora played in all six group matches and score the game-winning goal against Arabe Unido on 10/19 at BMO Field. He played 19 minutes in his first senior international CAP with the Canadian National Team on 1/31 against Jamaica.
2009: He appeared in 20 games, 19 as a starter and played 1,652 minutes. He scored his first game-winning MLS goal on 9/12 against Colorado in a 3-2 victory, and was named the Man of the Match. Attakora scored in the team’s final home game of the season on 10/10 against San Jose in a 1-1 tie, and received another Man of the Match honor. Internationally, Attakora played 89 minutes in two international friendlies held in February and March against Jamaica and the U.S. He was a member of the U-20 CONCACAF Champions League and played in both matches for Canada, a 1-0 loss to Trinidad and Tobago, and a 2-0 win over Mexico. He was called into his first Men’s National Team camp for Canada of January 2010.
2008: Attakora appeared in 5 games, 3 as a starter, logging 318 minutes with Toronto FC. He made his MLS first team debut on 8/9 against Colorado, started on 8/17 against New York, and against Dallas on 10/11. Attakora played in 10 Toronto FC Reserve League games, 8 as a starter, scored 2 goals and added one assist.
2007: Played in 5 Toronto FC Reserve League games, all as a starter, logging 437 minutes. Attakora suffered from a groin injury for the last part of the season keeping him out of action for almost 6 weeks at the end of the season.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Attakora has represented Canada at almost every international level starting with the Canadian U-15s. He was a member of the 2005 U-17 Qualification tournament in Mexico, where Canada finished third in the group. He was also a part of the FIFA U-20 World Cup team that played at BMP Field in 2007. Attakora was involved in 3 international friendlies in 2008, and was called up to the U-20 training camp at the start of 2009. In Decemeber 2009, Attakora won the Canadian U-20 Players of the Year award for the second consecutive year. He made his senior national team debut in a friendly against Jamaica on Jan. 31, 2001. Another national team call up came for Attakora in group stage of World Cup Qualifying against Saint Kitts and Nevis. In the summer of 2013, Attakora was a part of the 23-man squad for Canada’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.
