United midfielder Zoltán Stieber has been called up to the Hungarian national team for their upcoming November friendlies. Stieber and the Hungarians travel to Stade Josy Barthel to face Luxembourg on Thursday, Nov. 9, then return to Budapest to host Costa Rica on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
Stieber has remained a regular in Hungary's lineup throughout the year, most recently starting for his country in their Oct. 10 victory over the Faroe Islands and their Aug. 31 win against Latvia. Two of Hungary's best scoring opportunities against the Faroe Islands arose from well-placed crosses from Stieber, and the midfielder served as one of the main drivers of the attack in the victory over Latvia.
As Stieber continues to accrue national team caps, he continues to display the technical ability that has many United fans itching for more heading into the 2018 season. The midfielder's dangerous left foot and vision on the ball can be lethal for both Hungary and D.C. United, as already seen through his eight games played with the Black-and-Red.
