On November 21, 1999, D.C. United won its third MLS Cup by defeating the LA Galaxy 2-0 with goals coming from Ben Olsen and Jamie Moreno. So, we took a look at where the starting XI of the championship team is today.
- Goalkeeper Tom Presthus: (97-01) Presthus and his family now live in Ohio and he is an energy trader at American Electric Power
- Defender Jeff Agoos: (95-01) Agoos moved to New York and joined Major League Soccer’s front office in January of 2011 as Technical Director
- Defender Carlos Llamosa: (97-01) After a brief stint coaching at Chivas USA, Llamosa is now an Assistant Coach at NY Cosmos
- Defender Eddie Pope: (96-02) Pope resides in Virginia with his family and runs The Eddie Pope Foundation, aiming to use soccer to help develop the mind, body, and spirit of underserved youth.
- Defender Carey Talley: (98-02) Talley moved back to his hometown of Memphis, TN and runs the marketing department for the Mike Rose Soccer Complex
- Midfielder John Maessner: (96-00) After running the D.C. United Academy for a number of years, Maessner has just completed his second season as Nebraska-Kearney head women’s soccer coach
- Midfielder Richie Williams: (96-02) Williams returned to his alma mater, the University of Virginia and then coached with the Metrostars. He is now the United States Under-17 national team head coach
- Midfielder Ben Olsen: (97-present) Stayed right here in DC and we're proud to announce that he has just been named a finalist for the 2014 MLS Coach of the Year
- Midfielder Marco Etcheverry: (96-04) Etcheverry moved back to Bolivia and as of Jan 2013, is the assistant coach of Bolivian National Team
- Forward Jaime Moreno: (96-10) Coached the D.C. United U-23 squad for two years before stepping down to persue other opportunities
- Forward Roy Lassiter: (98-02) Lassiter is the technical Director of United Futbol Club in San Juan Capistrano, CA
