Luciano Acosta has been nominated for MLS' Goal of the Year thanks to his unforgettable buzzer-beater header against Orlando City at Audi Field on August 12. With United tied 2-2 against Orlando in the final seconds of a must-win game, the Lions tried to counterattack and looked as if they were about to score on United's empty net. Then the madness happened—Wayne Rooney tracked back and tackled the Orlando player, dribbled up the field, picked out Acosta with a perfectly-placed cross, and Acosta headed home the game-winning goal, completing his hat trick.
