In partnership with the Virginia Premier League, United are hosting a World Football Academy Course, a two day educational session led by Raymond Verheijen, at RFK Stadium from July 19-20.
Verheijen, a world-renowned soccer educator who leads soccer philosophy sessions throughout the world, will discuss:
- Football theory: The Philosophical Reference
- Football Tactics: Principles, Foundation and Methods
- Decision-Making: Coaching Game Insight
- Execution of Decisions: Coaching Football Technique
- Coaching Football Fitness and Football Conditioning Exercises
"I am excited about the opportunity to come to D.C. United this July," Verheijen said. "There are some very forward-thinking coaches in the area and by establishing a learning-hub here we can work with them to help them reach their full potential."
The World Football Academy, a global football educational institute, was founded by Verheijen, who is the only coach to have worked with teams at each of the last nine FIFA World Cups or UEFA European Championships and worked with Argentina during the 2014 World Cup.
