United and Costa Rican forward José Ortiz has been issued a one-match suspension and undisclosed fine from the MLS Disciplinary Committee for his embellishment in United's match against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, May 27. Ortiz is one of seven players who was fined and/or suspended by the committee following Week 13 action.
Ortiz will miss the Black-and-Red's match against Orlando City SC on Wednesday, May 31, at Orlando City Stadium in Florida. The 24-year-old has scored one goal in 10 appearances (four starts) in his first season in Major League Soccer.
