D.C. United announced on Tuesday that they will face Swedish side Malmö FF in a preseason friendly on February 8 in Florida. The match's time and location are to be determined in the coming weeks.
Malmö FF is the most successful football club in Sweden, having won more trophies than any other Swedish team since their founding in 1910. The match will be the Black-and-Red's fourth preseason meeting with Malmö—United fell 1-0 to the Swedes in February 2015, and earned 1-1 draws in February 2013 and February 2012.
United's 2018 preseason schedule will be announced in its entirety in the coming weeks. The Black-and-Red announced last week that they will also face Las Vegas Lights FC this preseason, taking on the USL newcomers at Cashman Field on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. PT.
