D.C. United today announced that registration for its Summer Camps is now open. The camps include the popular summer camp series at D.C. United's Training Complex at RFK, two Striker/Goalkeeper camps also at D.C. United's Training Complex and several week-long camps at satellite locations around the D.C. Metropolitan Area.
Series 1, 2 and 3, at RFK Stadium, will feature First Team player appearances from Brandon McDonald, Chris Pontius, Nick DeLeon, Lewis Neal, Perry Kitchen and Dejan Jakovic. The Striker/Goalkeeper camps will also feature First Team player appearances from Carlos Ruiz, Bill Hamid and Chris Pontius.
Additionally, D.C. United’s annual residential camp
will be held at St. Timothy’s School in Stevenson, Md., from July 6-10. An elite training environment, the five-day residential camp will provide on-field and classroom instruction of the highest level.

Camp descriptions
Week I: Individual Technique
Week I will focus on individual technique. Each session is designed to improve each player’s technical ability and fundamental skills.
Week II: Individual &Team Tactics
Week II builds from the individual technical abilities developed and sharpened in Week I and focuses on game tactics. Each player will improve his/her positional play, decision-making and speed of thought.
Striker Camps
D.C. United coaches and players will lead strikers through an intense week of specialized training, focusing on the art of creating and converting goals.
Goalkeeper Camps
In conjunction with the Striker Camps, the Goalkeeper Camps offer a program designed to improve shot stopping, catching, aerial duels, distribution, footwork, communication and positioning.
