WASHINGTON – D.C. United (7-3-4, 25 points) moved back to the top of the Major League Soccer standings with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Union (3-8-3, 12 points).
United extended its unbeaten streak at RFK Stadium to 19 straight games in all competitions – matching a franchise record – including 15 consecutive in league play dating back to June 2014.
Chris Pontius scored in first-half added time to tie the game, 1-1, after Sebastien Le Toux put the visitors ahead in the fifth minute. Chris Rolfe converted the game-winning goal in the 85th minute from the penalty spot after a handball on Zach Pfeffer.
D.C. United returns to action against the Chicago Fire on Wednesday, June 3 (CSN, 7).
D.C. United off the franchise’s best start since 2006, when the team was 8-1-5 (29 points) after 14 matches.
United has matched the club record by going unbeaten in 19 straight games in all competitions at RFK Stadium, including 15 straight in league play. The last loss came against Seattle in June 2014.
D.C. United came from behind for a 2-1 win for the second consecutive game at home.
