United midfielder/defender Nick DeLeon has undergone successful surgery to repair a bilateral sports hernia and is expected to miss six weeks. Dr. William Hutchinson performed the surgery in California.
DeLeon has made six appearances for the Black-and-Red this season (all starts) and has played right back and right midfield. The 26-year-old has made at least 25 starts in every MLS season and recently made his 150th MLS appearance (all for United) against the Union on April 1.
