D.C. United are set to play against Nashville SC in their 29th match of the 2021 Major League Soccer (MLS) Regular Season on Saturday, October 16, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET. D.C. United will look to rebound after their late loss against Orlando City SC and maintain their winning streak at Audi Field.
In their last match, D.C. United fell 2-1 to Orlando City SC. The Black-and-Red started the match on the front foot, scoring the opening goal in the seventh minute. Julian Gressel's powerful right-footed shot from outside of the box gave the Black-and-Red the 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, Orlando City found the equalizer when Robin Jansson mopped up a rebound.
In the second half, neither team were able to create any clear chances until the 87th minute. Orlando City attempted to take advantage of a counterattack and their shot beat Hamid but was denied by Joseph Mora. Then, in the dying minutes of added time, after a controversially awarded corner kick, Daryl Dike's glanced header snuck in at the near post.
D.C. United have an all-time record of 0-2-0 against Nashville SC. The last time the two teams met was on August 15, at Nissan Stadium, in a 5-2 loss for the Black-and-Red.
