What to Know?
Wayne Rooney, Christian Benteke, Mateusz Klich, Taxi Fountas and the rest of the squad return to D.C. and Audi Field this weekend for more 2023 MLS action as the team host Nashville SC, who sit in third place in the Eastern Conference.
Currently sitting in 8th place in the Eastern Conference standings, D.C. United's win streak stalled after a highly-contested 2-1 loss in Cincinnati last weekend. The Black-and-Red will look to handle the league's reigning MVP, Hany Mukhtar, and put forth a positive performance in front of the home crowd on Saturday night.
After beginning the season sidelined due to injury, Taxi Fountas has now scored a goal in each of his last three games, displaying the goal scoring prowess that saw him score twelve goals for D.C. United in 2022.
Ahead of the match head coach Wayne Rooney and Russell Canouse spoke to the press.
