What to Know?
The previous meeting between D.C. United and Chicago Fire took place all the way back on April 1 when the two sides played to a 0-0 draw. The match finish scoreless despite chances and crucial saves from both goalkeepers, including a heroic save from Tyler Miller in the 91st minute to help earn the hard-fought point.
However, after Tyler Miller sustained a rib injury in last weekend's match against Philadelphia, Miller will be sidelined for the foreseeable future. Replacing Miller in goal was Alex Bono who has now played in five matches across MLS, Leagues Cup, and US Open Cup in 2023.
Heading into Saturday, Homegrown Ted Ku-DiPietro is coming off an impact substitute performance in last weekends 3-1 loss. After entering the match in the 74th minute, Ku-DiPietro dribbled into space on top of the box and fired a powerful shot by Andre Blake and into the back of the net.
