dominant performance from forward Christian Benteke, who scored a 60th-minute penalty to
extend his goal-scoring form into 2025; scoring in each of D.C. United’s opening three games of
the season. Midfielder Hosei Kijima also made an impact, scoring his first goal, a game-winner,
for the club with a header assisted by JoĂ£o Peglow in the 68th minute. The team’s defensive
structure, anchored by goalkeeper Kim Joon Hong and defenders Kye Rowles and Lucas
Bartlett, helped secure the win as Sporting Kansas City piled on the pressure late in the game.

these two forwards could be one of the matchups to look out for in the game. The Black-and-Red
will need to stay solid defensively and continue their offensive form to take all three points at
Audi Field.
