What to Know?
The Black-and-Red will look to bounce back this weekend in Miami after a midweek home matchup turned bitter when a 2-0 lead quickly transformed into a 2-2 scoreline as D.C. United shared points with CF Montréal.Â
The Miami team has been hit or miss so far in 2023. After 15 matches, they have won five games, lost ten, and have yet to play to a draw with any of their opponents. The team also has the lowest scoring offense in the Eastern Conference with just 14 goals scored, however, former MLS MVP Josef Martinez has contributed to seven goals by scoring three and assisting another four.
Going in D.C. United's favor is potent attacking options to choose from. Christian Benteke, who captained the side on Wednesday night, leads the team with six goals. Playing next to Benteke in the last two matches has been, 21-year-old Ted Ku-DiPietro, who has come into his own after scoring his third goal of the 2023 season on Wednesday night. Not to mention, Taxi Fountas who has come off the bench in the last two matches after returning from injury.
