Argentine midfielder Luciano Acosta obtained his Green Card that grants him permanent residence in the United States. Acosta will no longer occupy an international roster spot for the Black-and-Red.

The 23-year-old led the team with five goals last season and shared Unitedās Golden Boot award with forward Patrick Mullins. Acosta was a consistent figure in the Black-and-Red starting XI and made more appearances (31) than any other United player. Since his arrival from Boca Juniors in 2016, the creative midfielder has scored eight goals, recorded 16 assists and completed 102 key passes in 62 appearances.
In 2017, United went 5-0-0 in games where Acosta scored with the midfielder tallying a total of four game-winning goals and one game-winning assist. The enigmatic attacking midfielder is able to create space with clever footwork and was second in the league for dribbles completed (80) behind Columbusā Justin Meram (88).
