United winger Lloyd Sam has been nominated for AT&T Goal of the Week for his goal against New York City FC on Thursday, Sept. 1.
After Luciano Acosta intercepted a pass near midfield, the Argentine flicked the ball inside to Ghanaian international Patrick Nyarko, who found his fellow Ghanaian Sam cutting behind the NYC defense. Sam coolly slotted the ball past Josh Saunders to put United up 1-0 in the 36th minute.
