United goalkeeper Bill Hamid has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for his performance against the Houston Dynamo Saturday night. Hamid was crucial in preserving the 0-0 draw in Houston, making two huge saves in stoppage time. The Homegrown signing dove down to his right to deflect a bouncing Mauro Manotas effort that was headed for the bottom corner. On the ensuing corner, Hamid stopped a Raúl Rodriguez header with his shin. The shutout was the 25-year-old's 40th in his career, tying him for third among active players (with teammate and former Dynamo 'keeper Tally Hall). Since returning from injury against Sporting KC, Hamid has made 13 saves in three matches.
