United’s match at Atlanta last weekend featured more milestones for the Black-and-Red during their 3-1 victory. Defender Sean Franklin made his 250th career MLS regular season appearance, while midfielder Jared Jeffrey made his 50th career MLS regular season appearance.
Franklin, who has been with the Black-and-Red since 2014, is third among current United players for most career MLS regular season appearances and 18th among active Major League Soccer players. The defender has remained a mainstay in United’s back line, starting 86 matches and logging 7,696 minutes played in his four seasons in D.C. Franklin has also tallied three goals and added seven assists for United, bringing his career totals to eight goals and 27 assists.
Jeffrey signed with United in July of 2013 and has made all 50 of his MLS appearances with the Black-and-Red. The midfielder has started 33 matches and scored five goals over the past five seasons for United. Jeffrey also passed 3,000 MLS minutes played on Saturday during his strong performance against Atlanta.
