The Canadian Soccer Association today announced itsroster for the upcoming CONCACAF matches of 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying.D.C. United’s Dwayne De Rosario has been named to the roster and will join theCanadian training camp in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. on November 6. Canada will faceSt. Kitts and Nevis in back-to-back matches on November 11 at Warner ParkFootball Stadium in Basseterre, and on November 15 at BMO Field in Toronto.
Canada needs only one point for its two remainingfixtures in Group D of CONCACAF Round 2 qualifying to clinch first place in thepool and advance to Round 3 of the qualificiation process.
De Rosario recently participated in CONCACAF Round 2qualifying matches against St. Lucia and Puerto Rico on October 7 and 11,respectively. Canada defeated St. Lucia 7-0 at Beausejour Stadium in Gros Isletand drew 0-0 against Puerto Rico at BMO Field.
Dwayne De Rosario recently claimed the 2011 MLS BudweiserGolden Boot, finishing the MLS regular season with 16 goals. The forwardstarted 31 of 33 matches played this season, registering 12 assists in 2,781minutes of action. Since arriving in Washington on June 27, De Rosario wasUnited’s most impactful player, helping the Black-and-Red surge towards the MLSCup Playoffs until the final week of the regular season. In 18 games in aUnited uniform (17 starts), De Rosario recorded 13 goals and seven assists.
In addition to his many MLS accolades, De Rosario isalso Canada’s current leading scorer with 18 goals. He is two tallies away frombecoming his nation’s all-time leading scorer.
