D.C. United has announced that Homegrown forward Michael Seaton has been selected to the Jamaica Men’s National Team roster for four upcoming friendly matches. The Jamaicans will face Serbia at Red Bull Arena on May 26 before heading across the Atlantic Ocean for three games: versus Switzerland in Lucerne on May 30, Egypt in London on June 4, and France in Lille on June 8.
Seaton has made four appearances for the full Jamaican side, beginning in November 2013 with his first cap against Trinidad & Tobago. Seaton scored his first goal in a 5-0 win over St. Lucia in March. A D.C. United Youth Academy product who was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, Seaton signed with the First Team on Jan. 14, 2013, becoming the fifth Homegrown player to sign with the Black-and-Red, and the first MLS player to be born after the league began play. He saw action in three league games and recorded his lone assist in an international friendly against C.D. Guadalajara on July 12. In addition, he was loaned to the USL Pro Richmond Kickers and featured in 15 games (11 starts), finishing with five goals and one assist on the season. This season he has four goals in three appearances for the Kickers.
