The Maryland SoccerPlex was the place to be Friday night as both ACC Semi-Final matches were hosted at the venue. Top-seed, Notre Dame squared off against the number ten seed Virginia, while fourth-ranked Maryland battled the Clemson Tigers. But the real story was the tale of two D.C. United Academy alumni, Marcus Salandy-Defour (UVA) and Michael Sauers (Maryland), who each notched their respective game-winners.

In an epic comeback, the Cavaliers found themselves down 3-1 to the Tigers in the 85 minute. UVA netted a pair before the closing whistle to force overtime and eventually penalty kicks. For his part, Defour found the back of the net one time in the run of play, adding an assist to his scoresheet, and scored the game-winning penalty to push UVA past the number one ranked team in the nation.
Maryland and Clemson were deadlocked at zeros when the final whistle blew, forcing the second overtime of the night. With 13 seconds to go in the first overtime, Sauers got on the end of a deflected shot and was able to push past the ball past Clemson's keeper to win the match for the Terps.
Maryland is set to face Virginia at the Maryland SoccerPlex this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. for the ACC title.
