Born in the early 1900s, the mission of International Womenās Day (IWD) is to help forge a gender equal world, celebrate womenās achievements, and increase visibility, while calling out inequality. (https://www.internationalwomensday.com/)
In celebrating International Womenās Day, D.C. United looks to showcase its partners, and community leaders as trailblazers for diverse female leadership at the intersection of business, service, and sport. While some may hold the honor of being first, these leaders are making sure they are not the last. The D.C. United International Womenās Day Celebration is to honor those who have achieved professional milestones and paved paths, as well as those at the beginning of their journey, and all women in-between.
