D.C. United Announce Friendly Against Celtic FC in July at Audi Field

The Black-and-Red will play the Scottish Champions on July 20 at 7:30 PM.

WASHINGTON (March 19, 2024) - D.C. United today announced a friendly with 53-time Scottish champions, Celtic FC, at Audi Field on July 20 at 7:30 PM ET. Celtic FC consistently feature in the UEFA Champions League and are a globally recognizable soccer brand. They will play at Audi Field, D.C. United’s 20,000-seat venue in downtown Washington, DC, in July.

Celtic announced a friendly against Chelsea FC from the English Premier League as part of their 2024 United States Tour on Monday, March 18. The teams will play at Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana on July 27.

Celtic Club Captain and Scotland internationalist Callum McGregor said: “We are delighted to be visiting Washington to meet D.C. United and we are sure the match will be another great sporting occasion. Celtic has enjoyed a number of great visits to the United States previously to play both European and MLS teams and I am sure this summer we will enjoy another successful visit.”

Celtic Football Club, commonly known as Celtic, is a professional soccer club based in Glasgow, Scotland that competes in the Scottish Premiership, the highest tier of Scottish football.
