D.C. United and the Football Science Institute Announce Educational Cooperation Agreement

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 29, 2023) – D.C. United and the Football Science Institute (FSI) have signed an educational cooperation agreement through which both institutions will collaborate in a professional alliance in order to promote Sports Science applied to soccer. FSI also have a relationship with Austin FC in addition to global partners with clubs like Valencia CF (Spain, LaLiga), Real Valladolid (Spain, LaLiga), Real Betis (Spain, LaLiga), Club America (Mexico, Liga MX), and Boavista (Portugal, Primeira Liga).

D.C. United are one of the original teams in Major League Soccer after being established in 1996. The Black-and-Red are one of the most decorated teams in MLS history and have won four MLS Cups (1996, 1997, 1999, 2004).

This agreement will provide D.C. United coaches with access for two seasons to FSI’s online training programs, adding value to the players’ daily routines and training programs.

FSI will implement a new internship program in the United States, accessible to those students who have completed their Master' degree which will consist of internships at clubs by quarter or semester. In this way, both institutions will promote job placement and networking between professionals accredited by FSI and club technical staff.
