WASHINGTON, DC (August 29, 2022) – D.C. United have agreed terms with S.K. Beveren in the Belgian second division for the acquisition of Homegrown midfielder Moses Nyeman. The Black-and-Red will retain a percentage of any future transfer fee for Nyeman.
“We wish Moses all the best as he takes the next step in his soccer career,” Dave Kasper, D.C. United President of Soccer Operations, said. “He is a very talented soccer player and wonderful person who we have enjoyed working with and seeing his growth from our Academy to the first team.”
Nyeman signed with D.C. United as a Homegrown on Oct. 3, 2019 at 15-years-old after an impressive stint with the Black-and-Red’s United Soccer League (USL) Championship affiliate, Loudoun United FC. He made his MLS debut for D.C. United as a 79th-minute substitute against the Philadelphia Union on Aug. 29, 2020. In three seasons with the Black-and-Red, Nyeman recorded three assists in 32 appearances (17 starts). In 2022, Nyeman made two appearances (two starts). His last appearance came in the 1-0 win against FC Cincinnati on March 5, 2022.

Born in Liberia, Nyeman has been a member of the D.C. United academy since 2015 at the U-12 level. The midfielder has appeared in 83 games (70 starts) for the Black-and-Red. Nyeman has scored 10 goals for United's Academy and his impressive performances earned him a call-up to the U.S. U-16 Boys' National Team Training Camp in 2018.
