On May 27, 2023, in the 87th minute against Toronto FC, Christian Benteke scored his 150th career club goal across competitive competitions. D.C. United congratulate Benteke on this significant career achievement.
When D.C. United acquired Benteke in August 2022, he sat at 142 career club goals across all competitive competitions from his time playing at the top-flight in both Belgium and England. 21 matches and 8 goals for the Black-and-Red later, the Belgian International striker hit the illustrious 150 goal milestone.

Signing for D.C. in 2022, Benteke’s first goal for the Black-and-Red came in front of the home fans at Audi Field on Sept. 18. Against Inter Miami CF midfielder Chris Durkin sent an out-swinging ball into the box as Benteke positioned himself to meet with his left foot.

As Benteke closed in on the 150 mark his clinical finishing began to take hold of Major League Soccer. After bringing a ball down inside of the box with his chest, Benteke only needed one perfect touch to set himself up for a powerful finish to seal the away victory in Orlando.

To follow that up, Benteke got on his bicycle in the 75th minute against Charlotte FC to connect his right foot with the ball above the heads of the onlooking defenders. To no surprise, the acrobatic finish was enough to earn MLS Goal of the Week honors.

After scoring what could have been goal 149 was called off due to another player being offsides, Benteke earned his due after D.C. United’s press caused the LA Galaxy goalkeeper to cough up the ball in the box, right to Benteke who provided a composed, seasoned finish.

And then, in the 87th minute against Toronto FC, Benteke netted his 150th club goal. After initially forcing a save out of the opposing keeper, the close range effort fell back to Benteke's feet and he was able to poke the ball into the back of the net and grab a goal back.
