“I was very happy with the group’s performance,” said D.C. United U12 Head Coach Dave Sanford. “It was a true team effort for the full 70 minutes. FCV Ashburn scored first on a set piece in the 21st minute. We went into halftime pleased with our performance even though the score line didn’t reflect it. The character of this group was tested and the boys passed. They put their brains to work and were able to solve problems as a group in the second half. We had some nice goals and moved the ball nicely as a unit.”
